The Answers

The following are the answers to the above frequently asked questions:

  1. I can't find a Display Case for my particular model of engine how can I get one?
Don't despair, we are continually adding more and more engine manufacturers and models to our readily available stock.  Though it would be impossible to allow for each and every engine ever made, you can always order a "Custom" Display Case for your engine if you do not find your particular engine listed for an additional $5.00.
  2. How long will I have to wait for a custom display to be built for my engine?
After we've received your specifications or engine, normal build to ship time is one week or less.
  3. I need a custom display, do I need to send my engine to you?
This will depend on the engine and/or the accuracy of your specifications.  There is a vast variety of engines that have been produced.  We have templates for some of the more popular engines.  For those we don't  and providing you can give us accurate specifications, you won't have to send in your engine.   Larger engines or engines that do not use the common "lug" mount method normally require us to work with the engine.  If your engine requires us to have "hand on", you will need to send us your engine which will be returned with your completed Custom Display Case.
  4. Are all the engines, either with or without Display Cases, in working order?
Generally speaking, YES.  In most cases where the engine is used and not an antique or rare vintage engine, the engine is test run to insure it's working order.  New or new old stock engines are not tested for the obvious reason that you would no longer consider the item new.  New, new old stock, tested used and tested vintage engines are guaranteed to be in working order or you can receive a full refund.  Please request a return authorization number if you need to return an engine.  Antique and rare vintage engines are sold on an as-is basis, though they may be in perfect working order, we do not test them and thus, cannot guarantee them.
  5. Can I get a Display Case for any size engine?
At this time, No.  We generally can provide Display Cases from 1/2 A to most .46 ci displacement engines.  At this time we are not taking orders for Display Case for engines larger than .46 ci.  Please be aware that not all .46 ci size engines can be accommodated.  Actual exterior dimensions of an engine will dictate whether or not we can provide a display for your engine.
  6. I have an old engine that was my Grandfather's, do you purchase old engines?
Yes, we purchase some old engines.  We've been contacted many times by heirs that have inherited and engine or engines for which they have no use.  If you have an engine you wish to sell, we have a simple questionnaire that you can fill out and send to us along with a photo of your engine.  We will respond with a quote for your engine.  If we have made an offer for your engine, payment will immediately follow our receipt of your engine.
