About this item
The Cox .049 Babe Bee C/L engine
(No. 350) is part of the "Bee Family". This is a vintage version
which best represents the "Classic" .049 Babe Bee that began
production in 1956. It has the two minute metal tank and an
anodized back plate with two vent tubes. Many budding "pilots" had
their first thrill of flight followed by many hours of either "fun
on a string" or chasing their free flight model with the Babe Bee.
This engine comes mounted in a
VP Model Engine Display Case with a contemporary white finish. The
Display Case has rubber feet and a gold colored nameplate with "Cox
.049 Babe Bee" inscribed. This engine has been tested and is in
fine running condition. It very clean, well preserved, oiled and
has no internal gumming. Overall this engine is in excellent
condition as you can see by the photo and has the correct working
glow plug and needle valve. These engines did not come with
spinners as the much later version did, but rather a washer and
screw as this one has.
