About this item
Offered is a
nice used O.S. MAX .46 LA R/C Engine. This
engine has barely been broken in with having less than a gallon of fuel
through it. It is a great reliable engine that is suitable for the
new R/C pilot's trainer or for the seasoned pilot's sport plane.
O.S. MAX reliability and simplicity is built in and quite powerful with
its Schnuerle porting (see specs below). This engine has the
"remote" needle valve to keep your fingers away from the prop while make
adjustments. It comes in its original box with muffler, muffler
bolts, glow plug and manufacturer's instructions. The VP Model
Engine Diplay Case NOT included.
This is the more attractive "Blue Powdercoat"
version. Street price for this engine new is about $68.00 plug tax.
So, you can save yourself a few bucks here as well as the hassle of
breaking in.

This is a nice engine, but it is used and
there are some items that should be noted. The engine is very clean,
but there is some castor and exhaust residue present. The Phillip's
muffler bolt heads are the victim of the wrong sized screwdriver.
They work, but you may want to replace. The remote needle valve
bracket was altered to accommodate fitting the engine into a tighter space
than originally allowed. Also, there is a "crack" at one of the
needle valve stay's (bracket's) mounting holes. It is still
perfectly usable as can be seen in the above photo. The needle valve
stay and muffler bolts are available online at Tower Hobbies for $2.79 and
$1.89 respectively if you feel the need to replace with genuine O.S.
parts. The prop washer and nut are not original and are silver
colored rather than black. Lastly, there is a small piece out of one
muffler fin (on the muffler's bottom side) as can be seen in the photo
below. None of the preceding items mentioned affect performance in
any way. They are mentioned so you have a better idea of the exact
condition of this engine.
